Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Rutland Vermont
Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish,
Rutland Vermont
This gorgeous, castle like parish was built over two years hosting it’s first Mass Midnight on Christmas 1893. It was the first church built in Rutland, VT for the large French Canadian population. Originally named Le Sacre Coeur de Marie.
While wandering around nearby Killington, I google map searched “church”. This work of art was the first I happened upon. A beautiful find on such a perfect morning. Two days after I put down on paper, the thought to pick up and run with the ball that uncle Neal has been kicking around for sometime. He has always inspired in me, a love of many ordinary, and obscure tangible items that time has left behind. Finding beauty in all the minor details.
His creation of the Church Lovin tagline played on my long appreciation for seemingly ancient architecture, and quality craftsmanship. Finding this church, seared into my mind the thought to keep steeple chasing.
